Is Lesante Blu Good for a Woman Traveling Alone? I Scored It.
My Signature Suite pool at Lesante Blu, just after sunset.
Yes. Lesante Blu, an adults-only resort on Zakynthos, is the first hotel to pass the WTD Standard. I stayed four nights alone in July 2025 and read how it treats a woman by herself. It met all eight core items and got 86% on the rest of the core, a pass but not by much. What decided it was honesty: asked about access, it went past my question and said the property may not be easy to get around.
How this read was booked. Booked at a preferred rate through my own agency and paid for by me. I earn a booking commission on stays I book, and I earned one on this stay. No property paid to be read, and no payment has ever changed a verdict. I stayed as a paying guest. When I wrote to the property with questions I identified myself as a travel advisor and said I write publicly and may reference the answers. I did not tell any property it was being scored against a standard.
Stayed and read July 2025 · Scored September 2026 · Property knew I was an advisor: no, not during the stay. I told them when I wrote with questions in August 2026. · Mode: solo
This is a hospitality read, not a safety rating. I score how a hotel treats a woman on her own. I do not certify that anywhere is safe, because nobody honestly can. How the WTD Standard works →
My four nights alone at Lesante Blu
I booked Lesante Blu as the last stop of a birthday trip through the Ionian islands. I wanted a sea view, a plunge pool, a few places to eat and a spa, and a hotel I could stay inside on the days I didn't feel like going out. I booked a Signature Suite Sea View with its own pool, and that's the room I stayed in, so what I say about the room is the room you'd get too.
Two days before I landed, the hotel wrote to the agency I booked through for my flight details and set up my airport car. I didn't have to chase a thing. At the desk I was just a guest, and nobody there knew I was an advisor.
I got in early. There were women at the desk, and they walked me to a couch and brought me a cool towel and fresh orange juice while I waited for the concierge. She checked me in at a private desk, away from the main one, and never said my room number out loud. Then she gave me a tour, a map, every restaurant, the boat trips I could book, and one piece of advice, which was to take their car whenever I left.
What they brought me while I waited for the concierge to check in.
My suite wasn't ready yet, so they sat me down by the pool for lunch and a glass of champagne. It was ready at 12:30, well before the 3:00 check-in, and the concierge walked me to it. My bags were already inside, next to a bottle of Greek white wine, chocolates, berries and a note the staff had written by hand. Some of that came with the rate I booked, but nobody had to write the note by hand.
My rate came with daily breakfast, a $100 resort credit, the welcome gift and my airport car. Early check-in and late check-out were on it too if they could fit them in, and I got both. An upgrade was on the list too if a better room was free, and there wasn't one on my dates. That was July 2025, and perks change, so ask what's included when you book.
I'd chosen a ground-level suite with its own pool, so my front door opened straight outside. It had a peephole and a second lock, and both worked. My laptop fit in the in-room safe, the robe fit, and there was a full-length mirror with outlets close by. On the first night I ordered dinner in: bread with tzatziki and olive oil, a Greek salad with grilled shrimp, and a bottle of local red. Some karaoke carried over from somewhere nearby until about eleven, and after that all I could hear was the water.
A table for one beside my private plunge pool.
On my second night I had dinner at Melia, their fine-dining room, and the concierge got me a table on the first ask. The tables right on the water were taken, so they gave me the next best one, still facing the sea, and asked if it suited me. Nobody said a word about me eating alone.
Every time I asked for a car, a WhatsApp message came before it arrived, with the driver's name, a photo, the car and the plate. I never asked for any of that.
What Lesante Blu told me when I asked
After the stay, I wrote to the hotel as an advisor with ten questions, and it answered all ten in two and a half hours.
On who's working, it wrote: "We are pleased to confirm that our Front Office, Concierge and Housekeeping departments are staffed by female colleagues. During the night shift, from 23:00 to 07:00, the hotel is supported by our Night Receptionist and Night Porter, who remain available to assist guests throughout the night." So women are there by day. At night it gave me job titles, not whether a woman is on, and I'd rather you read its answer and decide for yourself.
On a guest who feels uncomfortable, it said to go to Reception right away, where its team "will be pleased to listen to her concerns, provide appropriate assistance and take whatever reasonable steps are necessary to ensure that she feels comfortable and properly supported." That tells you who, when and what happens next, which is what I was asking for.
On room numbers, it said it would "never disclose such information simply upon request," which matched what I saw at check-in. On period care, no guest "would be expected to provide an explanation." On price for one, the rate is the same for one guest or two, so there's no single supplement, though the hotel doesn't publish that anywhere. On a woman driver, it gave a plain no: "our transportation partners are exclusively male drivers."
Lesante Blu accessibility: the six facts
I publish the same six facts for every hotel, and I don't rate them. On this stay I didn't take a tape measure, so every fact below came from the property in writing
-
What Lesante Blu told me: Four steps at the main entrance, with a ramp to the left of the door

-
What Lesante Blu told me: Two glazed lifts, one inside and one outside, "standard dimensions." It didn't say which of its three floors they reach.

Four facts are missing, and that gap is partly mine. My access questions were passed to the Sales Manager, who wrote back to ask what else she could help with, and I sent her the four questions on September 29, 2026. They're with her now, and I'll add her answers here, with the date, when they come in.
The hotel also wrote this, which nobody asked for:
“The hotel is characterized by a number of steps and changes in level throughout its layout, and consequently, navigating the property may not be particularly easy for guests with significant mobility limitations. We would therefore prefer to provide you with a clear and accurate picture rather than give you a general indication that the property is fully accessible.”
It also told me it hasn't been designated or certified as a fully accessible building. Its own website says nothing about access at all. So if you need step-free access, write to the hotel before you book. From how it answered me, I'd expect it to tell you the truth.
What Lesante Blu does well
It tells you who's driving before the car shows up, every time.
It asks if your table suits you when you're dining alone.
It keeps your room number private, in practice and in writing.
It doesn't charge more for one person.
It told me more about its access limits than I asked, which can cost it bookings.
Where it lost points
Nothing for an evening arrival who wants a treatment. The spa runs from 9 in the morning to 7 at night. When I asked, it said it could book the spa ahead for a guest whose arrival fits those hours, but it didn't offer anything in the room or nearby for a woman who lands after seven. Two hotels I read that have no spa at all offered to arrange one.
Night staffing, by job title only. It named the roles on overnight but not whether a woman is among them.
Room service hours don't match its website. It told me room service runs from 7 in the morning to 11 at night. Its website sells in-suite dining from a 24-hour menu. I'm publishing both, and I'd ask before relying on either.
Who Lesante Blu is for
It suits a woman on her own who wants to be looked after without being fussed over, eat alone at a good table, and stay put on the days she doesn't feel like going anywhere. It's not the right hotel if you need step-free access and plan to rely on the website, or if you want to walk out the gate into a village after dinner, because there's nothing to walk to.
Questions women ask about Lesante Blu
-
Yes. It passed the WTD Standard on my four-night solo stay in July 2025, meeting all eight core items and scoring 86% on the scored core items. It lost points for having nothing for a woman arriving in the evening who wants a treatment, for describing night staff by job title only, and because its room service hours don't match its website.
-
No. The hotel told me in writing that the room rate is the same whether one or two guests stay. It doesn't publish this on its website.
-
The hotel says it isn't designated or certified as fully accessible, and that steps and level changes throughout may make it hard to get around. There are four steps at the main entrance, with a ramp to the left. Write to the hotel with your needs before you book.
-
By day, the hotel says its front office, concierge and housekeeping teams are staffed by women. From 11 at night to 7 in the morning it has a night receptionist and a night porter, and it didn't say whether either is a woman.
-
Not really. There's nothing to walk to outside the gate, and the hotel suggests its car service whenever you leave. Each time I used it, I got the driver's name, photo, car and plate on WhatsApp before pickup. It asks for car requests in advance, so if you plan to go out late, tell the desk earlier in the day.
I've also written about dinner alone at Melia, and about how I choose a hotel when I'm traveling alone. Every card is scored the same way, and the full method is here.
Details change. Every fact on this card was true on the date of the read. Confirm anything you are relying on with the property when you book. If something here is now wrong, tell me and I will update the card and date the change.
